Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. has finalized the sale of its 42% equity interest in Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Plc to ECP (Energy Capital Partners).
This transaction, valued at $2.55 billion ($22 per share), follows ECP’s approval from the High Court of Justice of England and Wales.
The deal is part of APUC’s larger shift towards becoming a pure-play regulated utility, with plans to use the proceeds to reduce their debt.
Atlantica, with 2.2 GW of renewable energy assets across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, represents a key piece of the energy transition puzzle.
